I want to design an NSSA area with multiple ASBRS. My concern is multiple equal cost paths between the external networks. I do not want equal cost paths in the network. So I have a couple related questions...1. In a TOTALLY stubby NSSA area, do ...
I have a DS3 circuit between two ABRs. Presently the circuit is in area 1 and a virtual link is configured between the two for proper routing. I am changing this area to a NSSA area. In order to maintain optimal routing I now need two(2) circuits ...
What I have now is a normal OSPF area with 8 ASBRs attached (ppp links) to two ABRs and many (approx 50) RIP routers attached to the ASBRs . The ABRs also have RIP circuits/networks/routers attached to them. This area only uses a single class B add...
We have a two 8540s at the core of our network. Both of these routers are connected to approx. five WAN routers via 100TX CAT5 ethernet cable. These links, being ethernet, default to OSPF network type of BROADCAST (ten total). I was wondering if i...
I have two related questions about having a NSSA area with two (2) ABRs and external route summarization. I hope someone can give me a definite answer and thank you in advance for your time. All the external routes in this NSSA area are RIP routes an...
I understand what you have said completely and thank you very much for your effort in your answers. I DO understand how a NSSA area works and other stub areas as far as INTER-AREA routing goes and understand about type-7 LSAs etc. etc. believe me, ...
Thanks for the reply! But it doesn't really answer all my questions. If what you say is true.. (there are no type-4 LSAs in ANY kind of stub area, be it NSSA and/or totally stubby) HOW DOES 'intra-area' external routing occur in a "normal" NSSA an...
The area range command will only summarize OSPF routes at the ABR. You will still see the external networks. If you have external routes in this area they must be summarized at the ASBR not the ABR.Sorry if I am way off in left field on this reply ...
If there is a virtual link to each ABR in each area then the circuit between theses two routers would be used. For example: (view w/ fixed width font) R2 (ABR for area 1) / | / |area 0 R1 | ...
The GRE tunnel seems a little complicated to me and I believe in KISS (keeping it simple) I am not knowledgable of how sub-interfaces function or their configuration . This DS3 is a single physical point-to-point leased line. Will sub-interfac...
