Which kind of headset can be connected to a 7900 series IP telephone? Just a Cisco Headset?Can I connect a Peltor headset which has a jack connector using a Cisco adapter?

Regarding to the 7942G IP telephone, is it necessary to have a Server in the network to manage these telephones? Or are they servers in themselves?
