2504 WLC and 2802I AP

We've just received a few new AP's, running software 8.5.140.0, however my WLC is on 8.2.161.0.  Does anyone know if 8.5.140.0 is compatible with 8.2.161.0?  I'm not getting them to register with the WLC.
