Alternatively, to use HTTPS, try a newer version of IOS-XE, which adds this feature. You can also upgrade to Smart Licensing or Smart Call-Home, which automatically handles secure HTTPS.
Actually, AFC is not required if you are using the 9174E in low power mode indoors. However, if you are using the access point in LPI mode and follow the indoor operating rules, then you can operate without AFC.
