Yep, upgraded the IOS (to c850-advsecurityk9-mz.124-15.T14.bin) and WPA2 now working (after a bit of reconfig due to ssid config now being global rather than interface context)
I looked on the Cisco IOS platform/vesion compare page and am pretty sure it confirms the version of IOS is the issue : I'll upgrade soon and hopefully that solves the issue
