Go to control panel->sound->recording
Right click the microphone that is used and select Properties ==> Enhancements. Select "Disable microphone effects" and press ok to save. Restart the proximity app.

if yes can you try to disable it and test again and see if the config will change or not ?
sometimes the provisioning server keep changing it config on EP's.
