Similar situation where I need to add a new switch to an existing stack. I'm curious if unplugging the stack cables one at a time to the existing bottom member from the top member and plugging into the new switch will cause any type of outage.

i don't know why you're marking your answer as correct when you didn't answer the purpose of the post, which is to figure out why the captive portal is closing abruptly.Saying there are no settings to alter timing within ISE does not answer the quest...
