For VSM 7.9 that you have minimum supported version for this camera is 2.7.1 , however latest available version is 2.10 (and I recommend to upgrade to the latest).

By confirming write-access problems I mean to simple checking if you can 'manually' write something on your filesystem.
Simple test is to just run 'touch /media1/testfile' and verify the result (assuming you have an issue with /media1 partition)...
