This is not a particularly meaningful question for a 3550 switch. Either this switch does L2, in which case it looks at MAC address, or it does L3, in which case it looks at IP address, or a combination. In all cases, it knows nothing about sessions....
This is normal behavior. Spanning tree BPDUs, including PVST BPDUs, are sent as multicast packets - and they are also sent on access ports (since it is perfectly feasible to connect two switches using access ports).
