Machine auth only policy won't work, since it's by design that only user certificate will be presented once the PC is user logged in. Then the port will become unauthenticated within a minute because machine certificate is not visible to the switch ...
Just a quick note. The issue only affect one specific type of Ethernet adapter. I am really interested to know what could cause that, as the tablet can still connect to the same port through the docking station without changing the port settings.
