I have an 836 ADSL Router running the PPPoE client on the router. In addition the router shall transparently pass PPPoE sessions to/from the LAN interface. This probably can be achieved by using IRB. Can somebody provide a configuration sample?

I would like to see log messages when somebody failed to login to the router. Currently no messages is logged nor SNMP trap is sent. I am using an Cisco 1720 with IOS 12.3.1. How can I configure to log those messages or to sent SNMP traps.
