Defining Subinterfaces for Frame Relay

We are planning to connect two towns with a 2Mb link, and we want to have two different PVC in the link.

We have 2 25xx routers at each side of the connection with IOS version 11.0(16).

The question is:

Is there any posibility of define subinterfaces on the serial interfaces of the routers with the given IOS version? If negative, is there any other possibility to make our goal.

Hi Chema,

Yes you will be able to use subinterfaces. Version 11.0 (x) supports FR therefore sub-int. It may still be a better idea to upgrade the IOS anyway from Software Centre.

As you have 2 Cisco routers you won't have to worry about encapsulation as the default is "cisco".
