Cisco AnyConnect fails to install GTK icon/applet in Ubuntu 9.10

Hello,

  Cisco Anyconnect webinstaller (Java) fails to install the GTK icon/applet in the panel in Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) on an x32 system.  The binart works, but no applet.  Get the error "metadata error: cannot create custom icon" when trying to run vpnui from terminal.

Please advise/recommend a workaround.  Q:  How do I disable "Assistive technologies"?

Nevermind, figured it out - System>preferences>Assistive Tecnologies

Why is this a bug?
