We're experiencing a somewhat strange issue with our Cisco VPN appliance and Anyconnect software. I've searched the forums and haven't been able to find anything quite the same, so thought that I'd ask here and see if anyone has any ideas.
When connecting remotely using Anyconnect 3.1.05170, we are unable to see or connect to some file shares. A few of our normal mapped drives work as expected, but most do not. When first browsing Computer in File Manager, all drives have a red 'X' through them, but shortly thereafter the red X's disappear and all drives/file shares appear to be mapped and functional; however, there will only be a few drives that show the drives space allocation. These shares work just fine, but the other shares do not and when clicked on display a dialog box titled "Location is not available". There is a long descriptive paragraph that begins "<Drive Letter>:\ refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer...".
When using File Manager to browse to the server I can see all of the top-level (root-level) shares and printers, but can only access some. What's really interesting is that only one lower-level share is visible. What I mean by this is that under \\MyServer\ServerShares I should be able to see several shares, but I can only see one, the User\MyUserID share that my home directory is mapped to. All other shares are invisible! Attempts to map a drive to the shares using the server name and path all fail. Mapping the drives using the server's IP address and path does work, however.
I have verified that DNS and WINS are functioning correctly and the servers are all pingable using either the FQDN or the WINS name, so I don't see any issues there. The fact that some shares work just fine and others aren't even visible makes me think of some kind of permissions error, but I don't know of any permissions that would simply deny remote access, so I'm looking for any suggestions of what to look for or check on next.
Thanks in advance for any advice that you can provide!

Can anyone help with this? Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Did you ever get this resolved? I'm seeing this same thing. I'm monitoring the VPN traffic on the ASA, but dfs aren't sending any requests through the tunnel. I can access all via the IP address and path. Same mapped drives connect fine when wired or wireless in the office.
