ASA Management Using IPSec VPN

Hi Everyone!

I am trying to access ASDM/HTTPS server from a remote location using IPSec VPN Client. IP address of Management interface is 192.168.0.1. When i connect with ASA using VPN, the client IP address is from the pool 192.168.0.2-192.168.0.20. Despite of being of the same network, i am not able to ping 192.168.0.1. I guess I am missing some NAT configuration. Can you please help me out to sort it out?

Hi @ArslanAwan

You need the management-access <interface-name> command configured in order to manage the ASA over a VPN

Hi @Rob Ingram

I have tried configuring that but nothing happens. Is there any issue with NAT?

Please provide your configuration and let me know which IP address you are connecting from.

Hi @Rob Ingram

this configuration is not working when we set management-access <management>. It works when i tried to access it on inside VLAN with https server enabled on inside inside interface.

In older versions of ASA i was able to get remote asdm session on management interface as well. However, in this particular case, it hasn't worked.

Thanks for your valuable input. Helped alot.
