Cisco AnyConnect 3.1.04059 -NAM does not recognize ethernet connection

Hello,

We have an issue where Cisco AnyConnect NAM defaults to the wireless connection because it does not see any LAN adapters, even though there is an active LAN/Ethernet connection.

If I disable the WLAN and reboot, NAM will connect with LAN/Ethernet.   If I enable WLAN, then AnyConnect will default back to wireless and not detect the LAN/Ethernet.

I've tried updating both WLAN/LAN drivers and upgrading the AnyConnect clients.  Also tried changing the metric but no go.

The only thing that seems to work is if we set the LAN card optional property of "Wait for Link" from auto to ON or unplugging/plugging LAN cable.

Hardware:   Intel I218-LM/Intel Dual Band Wireless AC-7260

OS:  Windows 7 x64

Anyone else ever see this?

thanks,

Paul

I have this same kind of problem that machine is not switching from wireless to LAN when cable is connected. We observed this on win 10 machines. Do we have any fix?

Hi,

There was never any definitive fix but what we found was if we installed the system's chipset, LAN and Wifi drivers via the Intel executable when building the system, we saw less of this issue.   We had tried newer versions of AnyConnect as well as the latest Intel drivers but nothing seemed to work other than what I mentioned above.   The other workaround we found on some LAN cards was to flip "Wait for Link" setting in the properties of the Lan card, from Auto to ON.

thanks

Paul

We have installed on windows 7 as well but no issues are observed as such. Is it specific to windows 10 only?

My post was based on Win7 x64 and on Lenovo hardware.  I started to see this with I218 Lan Drivers.  It was easily reproducible. I haven't had the opportunity to work with Win10 but will report any findings.

Thanks Paul. Please share the findings.
