Hi all, just wondering...Is the Cisco SSL VPN truly clientless? or do you still need the ICA client on the local machine? Any help would be appreciated.

clientless probably just means that no vpn software is required. however individual software is still needed e.g. you will need rdc client to create a terminal session to a server.

The WebVPN mode (where the concentrator performs more or less as a proxy server) is clientless.
There is also an SSL VPN client mode that requires a client that is downloaded from the concentrator - which gives you full IP access to your internal network.

Hello,
I am indecisive in bumping the code on a concentrator 3030 to v4.7 just yet. Our goal at this University (Quinnipiac University - Hamden, CT) is to go client-less with our VPN.
While reading through the latest release notes and secure desktop configuration guide, I am still unclear on a few things.
Is it possible to move to this model and have our exisiting (proxy web-vpn) and Client (IPSEC) piece remain unchanged and working.
I would like to test out the new features and client-less piece with the Secure Desktop, but am concerned in doing so, I will crash or disabled our University Community from continuing to connect.
If you have any advice, that would be fantastic.
Thank You For Your Time,
Fabiano Iacusso
p.s. - I am new to this forum process. My email address is FIacusso@quinnipiac.edu jic. This may be the best bet for feedback.
Thanks!!
