One of the user had installed STOPZilla POPup blocker on his laptop having cisco VPN client 4.0.1 application installed. The VPN was working fine and connecting to our corporate network.

Trial version of STOPZilla license expired and VPN Client stopped connecting and got following error:

"Validation failed for c:\windows\system32\vsdata.dll" and "Necessary VPN subsystem is not available. You cannot connect to remote VPN server".

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Cisco VPN client and also tried upgrading to cisco VPN client to 4.0.3 still i get same error.

I also uninstalled STOPZilla and tries VPN connection . NO luck !!!

Any sugegstion on this issue is appreciated.

You may have to use the manual process to remove the vpn client and DNE code and services. Before you do that, are there any win event log messages relating to the cisco vpn service starting?

Inspect the virtual and phy adapters, and all dial-up adpaters too, to see if DNE is enabled on them. It should be enabled on all of them I believe. Is the cisco vpn service started?
