Hi. I have a Vista computer with Cisco VPN Client 5.0.0.30.....
I have filled out all necessary details with public IP, policy etc. but as soon as I click to connect it does something and says not connected. The popup of the username and password does not even open for the user to submit their details to connect.
What could be the problem, all other users have XP and they can connect when out of the office? Help

My first thought ... upgrade to Win7...
After that thought...
Do you see any activity on your VPN device?
Try disabeling the local Firewall on the PC
The Cisco VPN Client for Windows Vista does not support the following features:
•System upgraded from Windows XP to Vista (clean OS installation required).
•Start Before Logon
•SmartCard Authentication
•Integrated Firewall
•InstallShield
•64bit support
•AutoUpdate
•Translated Online Help - Provided only in English
Perhaps you can find an explanation here: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/security/vpn_client/cisco_vpn_client/vpn_client500_501/release/notes/51client.html#wp1582181

Vista has many known bugs and is a very unstable OS. Microsoft as acknowledged that and has even stopped supporting Vista.
So you have 2 options.
1) Upgrade to win7
2) Enable and use AnyConnect client
