Cisco VPN client issues

I have a remote user with a unique problem. If he is at his house, the only version of the VPN client that will work is 3.6. This version will not work for him anywhere else. When he leaves his house he must use version 4.6. He is a full time remote user and depends on VPN access to perform his duties. This all started when he purchased a new laptop with XP Pro installed. His previous laptop had Windows 2000 Pro on it and never gave any troubles. His home network is Alltel DSL with a Speedstream 5660 DSL modem/router. We have been fighting with this for a couple of months now, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does your user use split-tunneling at home?

There were some issues with various releases of the v4 client that had some split-tunneling/DNS problems. I don't think version 3.6 had those problems. Check the relese notes for specifics.
