Cisco VPN Client promptiong for Username and PIN??

Hello,

I have run into an issue where a user has installed the Cisco VPN Client version 5.0.07.0410 for Windows 7. When they connect to our VPN Appliance (ASA5520) they are promted for a Username: and PIN:

I am not sure why they are getting the PIN: prompt. When I connect with the same install and same .pcf file I am prompted for Username: and Passcode:

I am able to use just a "user password" as I have set on the RSA Server and I can login fine.

Anyone run into this before and can lead me into the right direction as to why this is happening?

Attached are screen shots of the different Prompts

Thanks

I would look at the user settings in RSA server and the user RSA token setup.

Thanks for the reply. I can't see the RSA server having anything to do with why the Cisco VPN Client is acting. The VPN Client contacts the ASA and the ASA passes the authentication to the RSA Server. I am not using a token, just the "User Password" option of RSA.

Also have installed the same client on the same platform with the same connection entry and everything works fine for me using their credentials. As shown in the attachments when my VPN Client connects to the ASA it prompts me for Username: and Passcode: but when the user connects to the ASA with the VPN Client it prompts them for Username: and PIN:

Issue is with Cisco VPN client. I installed shrewsoft VPN and it worked with passcode.

Bump ... Anyone come accross this before?

Hi There,

Did you compare from pcf file end when installed on your laptop Vs client laptop. I read somewhere that RadiusSDI parameter tweaking (1/0) in the .pcf file changes the prompt. This may be for the old clients and also why it changes when you use the same file- Iam not sure, but check if something relates to this.

I am closer to finding out why this is happening. Looking at this client I can see it has a certificate installed. just not sure how it got there.
