Cisco VPN Error - The VPN Service is not available. Exiting

Good afternoon,

I have an issue with cisco vpn anyconnect-win-4.5.02033-

When logging into Windows 10 , the VPN no longer automatically starts. Clicking on the Cisco VPN icon causes the error to pop up "The VPN Service is not available. Exiting". See image VPNERROR_1.png attached.

Manually starting the Cisco VPN service solves the issue, but any time I reboot the laptop the issue returns. I have reinstalled the software but no success. I have verified the Cisco VPN service is set to automatically start.

Windows 10 Version 1703

Hello @JRFITA

You are hitting this Bug CSCvh31083, it is resolved in version 4.5.04029 according to this link: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/vpn_client/anyconnect/anyconnect45/release/notes/b_Release_Notes_AnyConnect_4_5.html#reference_ml5_nqw_4cb

You need to perform the upgrade in order to resolve this matter.

I had errors in the installation: “the vpn client agent was unable to create the interprocess communication depot” “Service "Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Agent" (vpnagent) failed to star. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services” and also: “AnyConnect was not able to establish a connection to the specified secure gateway. Please try connecting again” This was the solution that worked for me in Windows 7: control panel / system and security / windows firewall left menu → allow a program or feature through Windows firewall. "Search shared Internet connection" and if you have the checkmarks remove them with the button change settings. Reboot pc try to connect I hope it helps Greetings
