Hi guys,
I am somewhat inexperienced with cisco client so if this is something simple i apologise in advance!!
Anyway the situation is that I have cisco Client VPN (3.6. i think) installed on a Windows XP home PC in a local workgroup and going out to the net via a wireless broadband connection through a ZyXel Zywall 10W to a wireless LAN connection. These guys are not blocking anything in or out to our public address.
Now the connection usually works fine and authentication and connection speeds are perfect but it regurlarly gives me issues like the following:
1. It always authenticates and connects fine
2. It will not communicate with any software on the other side (using a program on the remote end to add to databases)
3. When I reset the firewall it will work again once i reconnect.
4. If I disconnect and reboot it will work again.
I am now going mad and dont know where the problem is lying. If anyone can help me I would be most grateful. I personally think it may be XP home??
Regards,
Martin

Martin.
Try this:
Got the Set MTU utility on the client and configure the MTU to 1300. Test and see if that does it.
If not, then you may want to see if you have the same issue with a wired connection off the same location.

paras,
Thanks for the amazingly quick response!!
I am not in fornt of the client until later but i will try this. Is it on the client software that i change the MTU? I have not done this before so sorry for my stupidity!!
i will try the same connection on dialup but it is intermittant so this wont be a great test. When this looses its connection the other machines on the LAN still have internet access and work fine!!
Thanks again
