Controller Sonet

Dear all,

I need to clear one point

I have ch-stm1 connectivity with one of the Mux

Now my controller gets UP but

Output of sh controller sonet is as follow

SONET 8/0/0 is up.

Channelized OC-3/STM-1 SMI PA

H/W Version : 24.257.2.5, ROM Version : 1.2

FREEDM version : 2, F/W Version : 1.19.0

Applique type is Channelized Sonet/SDH

Higher Order Path Status:

Path# 1 has no defects

Lower Order Path Status:

VC-12 1/1/1/1 has defects

TU-LOP

VC-12 1/1/1/2 has defects

TU-LOP

Now why it shows defects, does it problemetic ?

might be a problem with Sonet STM-1 controller.Upgrade to 12.1(27b)E can slove these problem.If there are errors associated with the SONET controller, you can use the loopback command in controller configuration mode to test the controller. If the SDH/STM-1 trunk card is configured for loopback testing, the system clock source must be a different clock source.Refer URL
