We are having an issue at work at the moment with Crypto key creation on our network of switches. This may or may not be a fault with putty.
Basically the command we are using to create the Crypto keys for SSH is 'crypto key generate rsa usage-keys mod 2048', however when we use putty to connect to any switch putty advises that the key size is 1024.
You can see the switch confirm that the keys are generated using 2048 bytes but putty persists to confirm they are 1024.
The problem is there is no way of confirming on the switch itself (these are all new Cisco 2960x switches) to show what the key size actually is.
I have scoured the net looking for a command to show the key size and there are none at all that I can see.
Has anyone come across this issue and can you help?
