Embedded Browser Not Saving Password MacOS Monterey

We have a couple of new M1 Macbook Pros with macOS Monterey 12.5

We've noticed that our Cisco AnyConnect client ver 4.10.03104  will launch its embedded browser to complete SAML authentication and we are able to authenticate and connect, but we can't get the client to save the password.  There is never a popup window from mac Password Management or Keychain Access that asks for permissions or if we want to save the password.  There is a (Microsoft ADFS) screen within the embedded browser that asks if we want to "Stay signed in?" with a checkbox to "Don't show this again."   Even if we check the box and click yes to stay signed in, we are still asked for the password the next time we try to connect.

We are able to get these same credentials to save within macOS password manager if we log in using Safari browser, so it seems to be isolated to the embedded Anyconnect browser.  We're not seeing this behavior on any of our pre-M1 Macs or Windows machines.

Are we missing a step to allow the client to save the logon password?

(I have tried running the client in Rosetta mode just on a whim, but it didn't seem to make any difference.)
