I have a Cisco 678 router. I can't tell you the firmware version--the interface program (Cisco Commander) doesn't see the router.
A client's network consultant is trying to set me up to use Sonicwall's Global VPN Client (ver. 2.1.0.111) but I'm getting an error when I try to enable the client ("Failed to open IPSec driver"). The consultant is fairly certain I need to enable VPN passthrough on my router, he is less certain it's possible.
My DSL provider couldn't find any information about whether the 678 supports IPSec, much less how to do it. I haven't been able to find any documents on Cisco about it, either.
Your advice about whether it's doable, and, if so, how, or a link or suggestion to finding documentation would be gratefully received. TIA.

Passthrough should work on 678 router, but not guarenteed with some non-Cisco products. If you are using say port number 10000, add this config to 678
set nat entry add {inside client address} 10000 {outside PAT address} 10000 udp

Thank you so much for your reply. The network consultant agrees that it should work since he has other clients using the same router and same SonicWall VPN client.
I'm sorry to be such a dope, but how do I go about finding out what port I am using? And then, how do I set it? I know (think) that I have to use Telnet, but am uncertain how to go about it.
Sorry for the hand-holding required, but I appreciate your patience.

Oooooh, just after I replied, I realized that I've got a MS Wireless hub between the VPN client machine and my Cisco router. Doh. I'm pretty sure that's where I should be looking and not at the router at all.
My deepest apologies for wasting your time, but thanks again.
