How to understand Lofs,Loss,Lols,Lprs,ES

hi all,

In the course of testing performance management of DSLAM, I need to simulate some events to

increase MIB counters, such as adslAtucPerfCurr15MinLofs,adslAtucPerfCurr15MinLols,etc, so

these counters can reach the threshold, trap info can be gotten. But I am confused with

definition of Lofs,Loss,Lols,Lprs,ES and other channel performance data.

1.The definition of adslAtucPerfCurr15MinLofs is "Count of seconds in the current 15-minute

interval when there was Loss of Framing.", it is same for Loss,Lols,Lprs. I don't understand

these definitions well, how can I control the happen of these events, the tools I have are

Line simulator,SmartBits (from spirent);

2.The definition of AtucChanPerfCurr15MinRxBlks is "Count of all encoded blocks received on

this

channel, within the current 15-minute interval.", what's the meaning of encoded blocks? The

definition of AtucChanPerfCurr15MinCorrectedBlks is "Count of all encoded blocks received

with corrected errors on this channel, within the current 15-minute interval.", how to judge

the encoded blocks have errors or not, checksum? or CRC?

Thanks in advance

Best Regards

The Cisco management framework is consistent with the Telecommunication Management Network (TMN). Like TMN, Cisco uses a five-layer model that defines both the logical division and the communication between areas of the service provider's business operations and management processes. Consistent with this architecture, Cisco has developed a suite of service, network, and element management solutions.
