Hi,
I have a question regarding the differance between handling ( Windows 10 L2TP and an ASA 5505 ) or ( Windows 10 L2TP and an ASA 5508-X ).
We have employees using MAC's and Windows 10 clients, the MAC have no issues using the L2TP protocol on both types of ASA.
The clients using the Windows 10 built-in L2TP interface and the ASA 5505 have no issues sending bulk data thru the tunnel, the Windows 10 clients using the ASA 5508-X still have issues sending large data thru the tunnel. Sending large data ( 40 MB ) results in stalling the client which results in a connection abort.
If a use a new 5508 and configure a basic L2TP setup , it also has the issue. The setup consists in a Windows 10 client , ASA 5508-x and behind the asa ( inside ) a basic linux ( centos 7 ) server.
On the other hand i have configured a IKE/IPSEC client vpn entry which works for both the types of ASA's and have no stalling issues. ( used Shrew client because Cisco VPN is not supported in Win 10 )
My question is : why is l2tp stalling when using the ASA 5508 and Windows 10 client ?
