Hello,
I have an ASA5510 which after some time of being unused has been given to me to get going again. When I access the ASA5510 from outside, I get the SSL VPN Service logon screen and when I enter my credentials as prompted get the reported error. There is an existing, but legacy, configuration but I not certain I added my username correctly. Can someone confirm the syntax when adding a user to an existing configuration? I think I have other configuration loose ends I need to tie off as the topology in place does not quite match the ASA's setup.
Thanks

You could do a password reset if you are unable to login to the ASA.
https://www.tunnelsup.com/how-to-do-a-password-recovery-on-a-cisco-asa-firewall/
If you have CLI access to the ASA then you could add a new user:
username admin2 password Cisco123
Also, check the ASDM configuration to see if it is using the default port TCP/443 or a user defined port:
show run http

I do have console access. For that matter, browser access to download the ASDM client, is not working either. So, I have a few deficiencies to sort out. I will certainly verify the output of the http service as recommended below. I did originally do the username command as specified below, but, when I enter those credentials, I get the reported error in this thread.

Typically this error is seen due to licenses. Are you connecting from a pc or a mobile device like an ipad or android phone? If this is a mobile device provide the output of "show ver" and remove your serial and key numbers.

I finally got this sorted out and found the client is not doing clientless access and rather are using the client based remote access.
Once I got a valid copy of the client and imported the needed pcf file, access was successful.
