Need Help in setting up VPN

Please help to setup a VPN connection..dont know much about it    ...so i need a tutorial like a beginner  ...

I HAVE LYNKSYS E4200  ROUTER ...HOW I CAN CONFIGURE IT FOR A SUCCESSFUL VPN CONNECTION ...

Do i need to buy a static IP Or something like that. ?
