Please Help! Can not access to web after connected to VPN

Hi,

I am a newbie on Cisco products.  I configured a Cisco ASA 5505 firewall with VPN.  However, I can not access to the web after I connected to the remote IPSec VPN.  I also failed to connect to the webs using IP.  But I can connect to internal servers in the office without any problems.

Hi,

Try adding the following commands

same-security-traffic permit intra-interface

nat (outside) 1 192.168.1.96 255.255.255.240

If there is still problems with the VPN then I would suggest perhaps changing the VPN Pool to something else than something that overlaps with the LAN network.

In that case these configurations should do the trick

In order from top to bottom they would do the following things

  • First remove the VPN Pool from the VPN configurations
  • Then remove the VPN Pool
  • Remake the VPN Pool with different network
  • Reattach the VPN pool to the VPN configurations
  • Configure NAT0 for the new VPN Pool
  • Remove the old ACL line from the NAT0 configuration

tunnel-group xxxxxxxx-sc general-attributes

no address-pool sc-pool

no ip local pool sc-pool 192.168.1.100-192.168.1.110 mask 255.255.255.0

ip local pool sc-pool 192.168.2.10-192.168.2.254 mask 255.255.255.0

tunnel-group xxxxxxxx-sc general-attributes

address-pool sc-pool

access-list inside_nat0_outbound extended permit ip 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0

no access-list inside_nat0_outbound extended permit ip any 192.168.1.96 255.255.255.240

Naturally you would also need the NAT configuration for the new VPN Pools Internet traffic

nat (outside) 1 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0

It works! After putting the first two commands to the  conf and reconnect to vpn, I can access to the web without problems.  Thank you so much.
