Remove duplicate entries in VPN Client

I have installed Cisco VPN client version 5.0.07.0290 several times on a Toshiba laptop as I attempt to get it configured properly.

I have ended up with 5 entries in the main window where the Connection entries are shown.

When I try to delete the 4 duplicate entries I don't need, they will not delete and I get a message of "Error 21: Unable to delete connection entry"

This is Windows 7 on a Toshiba Satellite M305-S4910 with Core 2 Duo Processor and 4 GB RAM.

What do I do to remove these duplicate entries?

Hi Joel,

I think the connection entries are with Read only attribute. Please try the following:

  1. Choose Program Files > Cisco Systems > VPN Client > Profiles.
  2. Choose the connection entry that you wish to delete.
  3. Right-click on the connection entry (in .pcf format)and choose Properties.
  4. If Read Only box is checked, uncheck it.
  5. Try to delete the connection entry from VPN client. It should now work.
  6. If the above does not work, try to delete the pcf entry itself for the corresponding duplicate entry.

Let me know if this helps,

Cheers,
