Site-to-site VPN requirements?

astroman

Here's the scenario:

2524 router running IOS ver. 11.3(6)T, and a 1721 running the latest version of IOS code.

Is the 2524 capable of being part of a site-to-site VPN with the code that it's running?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

You have not told us quite enough to be able to fully answer your question. But here is what I can tell you:

I looked in the IOS software planner for releases supporting IPSec and found in the 11.3 release

11.3.11bT4 (ED)

11.3.11bT3 (ED)

11.3.11bT2 (ED)

11.3.11bT1 (ED)

11.3.11aT1 (ED)

There are also releases in the 12.0 and 12.1 releases for 2500 that support IPSec.

If your 2500 has sufficient flash and RAM to load these images then it is capable of being part of a site to site VPN.

I'm sorry...

The company will more than likely not upgrade the image; they do not have SmartNET support any longer. I was wondering if this was capable with the IOS version they were running on the 2500 currently.

Thanks for your help...
