Every time I start the Cisco Systems VPN Client (3000) I get this error message on my Win 98 SE machine.
The necessary VPN sub-system is not available. You will not be able to make a connection to the remote IPSec server
No matter what I have tried, it seems to not go away. I believe it is preventing me from connecting to my VPN setup at my place of work. When attempting a connection, I get the following message>
Initializing the connection...
System Error: Connection Manager failed to respond.
Can someone provide some help ?
Thank You !

Have you tried monitoring your log file for the client? Start, Programs, Cisco Systems VPN Client, Log Viewer, then enable Event Capture. Try to log on and then see what is captured in the Event Viewer. Let me know what it says.

Hey Travis,
Here is the result of the log when I figured out that all the sensitivity of the logs must be set to HIGH to capture relevant info.
It turns out that because I was running a Win 98 SE machine, un-installing PGP did the track. While I am sure it is possible to have both running, this is the immediate solution I am using.
Thank You for taking the time to reply.
