TrueVector Service

Hi,

We are having a problem on systems with the VPN client.

On startup the application event log shows following error: TrueVector driver: Driver install or load failure: LoadNTDeviceDriver.

Win32 error: The system cannot find the file specified.

Browsing through the forum shows a similar post where is mentioned that Zonelabs and Cisco are using the same common DLL.

A process explorer shows that some DLL's have been loaded. vsdata.dll, vsinit.dll. A vsdatant.sys must be involved, too.

Removing these 3 files gave as result: The client does not match the company security policy and denies the access.

On the VPN concentrator is the option 'Cisco Integrated Client Firewall required' configured. Removing this option can't be the solution.

The clients never saw Zonealab products. The error messages appear with client versions 4.03F and 4.6x; Concentrator v4.7.

If the VPN Client is somehow connected to the TrueVector Service can someone explain what is causing the problem and how to fix it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Stefan,

As you said on the concentrator, you have the CIC firewall required option set and you cannot remove this opttion. How about making it to firewall optional (Firewall settings of Client FW tab in the group configuration mode). This checks if the initiator has a FW installed. If not, it will give you a warning message but there will be no problem with the connectivity. This helps to get connected without the hassel of FW.

For your system problem "true vector error message",

cheers..

Hi,

Having the CICFW as optinal but not required will confuse a lot of users and cause a lot of HelpDesk calls. Independant of that, it is the goal to use the Integrated client firewall. I do not see that as a hassel.

The problem appears still with the newest server and client.

Thanks

Cheers,
