upgrades patches for sourcefire

HI Experts,

I have to apply the latest Hotfix / patches to SourceFire devices and those devcies are placed on the edge of our network.

can anyone of you please let me know the best way to apply the patches to those devices, like best practices or procedure so that it shouldn't affect our network.

Any help would be appreciable.

 Do not affect the network is not always possible. The rule 1 Best Practice is 'Do it on a planned time window'.

But, there are a log of other steps you should go through.
