I'm about to upgrade my asa to version 8 from 7. I see a lot of instructions on using tftp to accomplish this. I also see in the gui where i can upload the image files for version 8. is there any disadvantage from using the gui instead of a tftp server? Just seems easier via the gui.
With TFTP, you will be able to see the progress of the file transfer as well as the upgrade, and with ASDM, it won't really give you any progress and you can just be waiting blindly.
