I am using the same settings on my home PC as I do my work PC for the CISCO VPN software (Version 3.6), but when I try to VPN from home, I get the message "Failed to establish secure gateway connection". I am using the same OS (Windows XP Professional) and everything. Does anyone know if this error is broad, or if it usually refers a specific problem. Any advice would be great appreciated. Thank you!

Jeff,
Very broad. Obviously there is something different at home than at the office. Do you have a personal firewall on your home pc? Like norton or zone alarm or a hard ware based firewall? Are you going through a NAT device? What device are you connecting to? Pix, router or concentrator? Take a look at your client logs, sometimes it will tell you right in the log what the perspective problem is as well as at the vpn gateway device.

Thanks for the response. I am trying to connect to a PIX, and use Norton and Zone Alarm at home, as well as at work. Here is what the log shows when trying from home:
1 18:51:31.098 12/02/02 Sev=Warning/3 IKE/0xE3000056
The received HASH payload cannot be verified
2 18:51:31.098 12/02/02 Sev=Warning/2 IKE/0xE300007D
Hash verification failed... may be configured with invalid group password.
3 18:51:31.108 12/02/02 Sev=Warning/3 DIALER/0xE3300008
GI VPNStart callback failed "CM_IKE_ESTABLISH_FAIL" (3h).
Would this help anyone?

Just like it says, "Hash verification failed... may be configured with invalid group password." You have either mistyped your groupname or your password. This is case sensitive. Retype the information in to your client, if you have too, retype the password for your group again on the pix.
