VPN and AS400 client access

I have a VPN client that can connect to the VPN from home using a cable modem. Client Access is able to connect to the AS/400. However, after 10-20 seconds of inactivity, the client access session drops. The VPN tunnel stays up. He can close client access and open it again only to find the same problem keeps coming back. Any thoughts would help greatly.

Look at the packet sizes your VPN is using. I have a Cisco 3015 and As/400 and CLient access working fine here. I notice that with some client systems, the smaller packets, <1500, are fine but when the packet reaches full size, then you run it across VPN the fragmented packet does not make it. Search for a file called SETMTU on the client, run it, and set MTU to 1400, reboot and see if that helps.

Within client access you have a keep alive funciton, change this to 900000 seconds
