VPN authentication server protocol

Lake

Hi Guys,

We are running a Cisco ASA5516 firewall running version 9.7 with Anyconnect VPN users using using Active Directory 2008 RADIUS Server for authentication. We are planning to upgrade to Windows 2016 Active Directory. I am told by the consultant that Anyconnect users can authenticate straight to an Active Directory group instead of using RADIUS. He said that the Anyconnect users will use HTTPS protocol for authentication instead of RADIUS. Is that correct?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Lake

Hi,

I use AnyConnect with direct LDAP authentication. You can add LDAP as AAA
server and use it under authentication method when configuring tunnel-grooup
