VPN client 5.0.07.0290 cannot connect

Hello everyone,

I’m trying to connect using the VPN client version 5.0.07.0290 (installed on Windows 7 x64) using a connection entry using a certificate authentication.

The profile host is correct, also the certificate is correct.

However I cannot establish a VPN connection; the same error is reported onto the console log:

Which CA server(2003,2008 etc) did you generate the Client cert from?Also what is the RSA key length? Is the same working for XP or Vista clients?

Hello rahgovin,

I have exported the certificate from Windows XP x32 using the .p7b format. (with the entire chain)

This certificate was installed on Windows 7 x64.

When I open the Personal store of the Windows 7 x64 the RSA public key of the certificate has 1024 bits.

The CA certificate has the RSA public key of 2048 bits.

The same key lengths are also presented onto the XP x32 store.

Do you have any ideas what is wrong?

Can you try importing the original certs to the Win 7 machine in pkcs12 format with the private RSA keys too?

I have exported the certificate using the pkcs12 format as you have suggested.
