vpn client differences on pix and ios

What is the differences between running vpnclient 1.1 on cisco 1720 and vpnclient 3.5 on pix 515. What is different?

They both do the same job. I think the 3.5 code is more reliable but I hear there will be a new version coming out this spring to replace 1.1 for the routers.
