I have a user who is trying to install Cisco VPN 4.6 software and he is seeing this error below. Does anyone know what the problem might be. I cannot seem to duplicate the error.

Thanks

Did you have any luck resolving this problem?

Thanks,

pq

verify whether the user has administrative right.

also verify whether the pc has any vpn related software installed.

The user does have administrative rights, and I don't think it has any vpn related software installed because we've just loaded the plain OS (Windows XP w/ SP2)

Thanks,

pq

By the way, it does have a NIC and a wireless LAN card installed.

Thanks,

pq

I resinstalled the OS and VPN client that resolved the problem. I think the problem had to with registery, Don't know what caused the problem.

Thanks,

Gary

Yep,

Re-installing the o/s clean eventually did this for me too. Wasn't XP SP2 or any client firewall issue or anythign like that.

In Device Manager, if I viewed the hidden devices, it showed network adapters that were no longer installed in the system. Windows woudl not let me delete them. I think what was happening, is that the vpn client was trying to bind to a network adapter that was no longer present in the system.

thanks,

Mike
