vpn client for linux on debian linux kernel 2.6.16

hi,

have a user trying to install vpn client for linux 4.8.00.0490 and they get the following error when trying to install the module:

etc/init.d/vpnclient_init start Starting

/opt/cisco-vpnclient/bin/vpnclient: insmod: error inserting

/lib/modules/2.6.16/Cis Failed (insmod)

any ideas what the problem could be?
