VPN Client installation failed

I am not able to install anyconnect vpn client it gives me following error.

Product: Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client -- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor

I've seen this before but can't remember the answer for sure - sorry.

I do recall it can be caused by other applications installing a network shim.  So try un-installing any other VPN clients, or anything that might interfere with the network layer on the machine.

I would recommend using the installer from the package installer the one with .iso name format: 
anyconnect-win-4.2.03013-pre-deploy-k9.iso

Extract the .iso file, right-click the "setup.exe" and run as administrator. Selet the anyconnect module desired, in this case VPN, and install


PS: it's a package installer since it contains all the anyconnect modules.
