VPN Client through MS Proxy Server 2.0

Recently, my school installed a VPN server, so that the student could take advantage of the schools network resources. The problem I am running into is that I install the software, but I am behind my own Proxy Server at home. I am currently running W2K with MS Proxy 2.0 installed. I am constently getting that its unable to communciate with the VPN server. The software is able to translate the DNS name into a IP address, but that's as far as it goes. I was wondering if anyone has every had this problem, and if so how did you go about fixxing it.

I think the problem you are facing is due to the proxy process itself. I am not too familiar with the proxy process on the MS server. However, what might be happening is that the original IP, using which the client is building a tunnel with the VPN endpoint at your school, gets replaced by the proxy server. If that is what is happening, a better design would be one in which the tunnel is established between the VPN endpoint at your school and the proxy server at your home. You could then use this tunnel to connect to the resources at your school.
