VPN disconnect

We are using 3030 VPN concentrator. When we connect to the unit with some IBM laptops uing Cisco vpn cient. I can ping the destination from a command prompt. If i let the PC sit for 10 minutes I cannot ping the destination.

The VPN icon is still locked, but after a while it will unlock. The idle time in the profile is set to 4 hours.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Instead of pre-share key for VPN Client Authentication, use Certificates. With a Certificate Server, generate a Certificate for a Laptop. Copy the Certificate to the Laptop and enable the Certificate on the VPN Client.
