When connecting to the VPN on a ASA5505 from our LAN connection through a 2811 router we experience the following:
The VPN will connect, in statistics we show bytes sent increasing. bytes received stays at 0
we are unable to ping or access anything on the local LAN.
If we connect to the same VPN through a wireless Netgear router, everything works.
The firewall is open for the machine that we are testing the VPN on.
What could be causing the connection through 2811 not to work.

Michael,
So you replaced your Netgear with a Cisco Router right?
My first guess is that you are missing the NAT bypass on the Cisco Router. Take a look at that. If you have any doubts feel free to share your config with us and will take a look.
Thanks.

NAT is not enabled on the 2811 router, but it is on the ASA5502 that the VPN resides on. We have two networks that we can access the VPN from. One is a simple DSL conection with Netgear router. This one works fine when accessing the VPN on the other network that has the ASA5505. Our other network we use to access the VPN uses a 2811 router with a 20gb pipe. This one connects but there is no access to LAN.
