VPN with Smard Cards or Tokens

We are using pix525 and our clients will connect us over internet. For the authentication we think of smart cards or tokens. Which is better for security, managebility and useful?

The VPN Client supports authentication with digital certificates through a smart card or an electronic token. But VPN Client works only with smart cards and tokens that support CRYPT_NOHASHOID.
